Company History

Carpenter & Paterson began in the Boston area in 1908 manufacturing "plumbing specialties". Since 1913 the company has specialized in the manufacture and distribution of a complete line of pipe hangers and supports for commercial and industrial applications.

Over our 100 years in business, many expansions and divestitures of operations have occurred, both domestic and international, in response to changing market conditions and ownership. Today, Carpenter and Paterson, Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of The Paterson Group, Inc.

Our supports have been specified and installed on major water treatment, pharmaceutical, process piping, petro-chemical, hospital, and school buildings as well
as many other industrial projects throughout the world.

About our "Witch" Trade-Mark

Carpenter & Paterson’s black witch logo has been in continuous use worldwide since the company began in 1908. It has no particular significance other than it is associated with the city of Salem, Massachusetts, located just north of Boston, which became famous for the Witch Trials of 1692. It has been told that one of the founders of Carpenter & Paterson was trying to come up with a logo for the company as he was passing through Salem. The Salem "Witch" caught his eye as a unique logo that could be associated with Carpenter & Paterson.
